Seriously folks. Best Indian buffet lunch I believe, in North America so far possibly ever! I believe I must go back and re- rate some of my other buffet reviews because this just raised the bar to a whole new level!
There were two straight up South Indian dishes on the veg side of the buffet, my favorite flavors! (Rava Uttma and a version of Pooriyal with perfectly roasted red chilis and curry leaves) My boyfriend who ate the chicken didn't stop raving about everything as well. No heavy dairy, not oily or greasy anything, even the Halwah, or my boyfriends meat, - everything exquisitely spiced with complex layered flavors- in a buffet! Rounded the meal with fresh salad and pickle, palak veggies ( really don't miss the paneer at all! ) and a creamy gobi dish that seemed to have dairy but was so light I was questioning it! Sooooo good. Next time we travel through anywhere remotely near the area, we will be back!!! -

Would have been 5 stars, but the end was bad. First, nicely remodeled restaurant. Moderately busy on a Saturday night. I like heat, and the waiter was attentive, letting me taste the chili's and making recommendations. Short but decent bar list, and I chose a full bodied cote du rhone. Of note, i only saw vodka and rum cocktails, but they really need to add a gin for Indian cuisine IMHO.
The food was delicious, small chutney on the table, ample rice. I also tried the garlic naan which was well charred and yummy. Eating alone at Indian non buffet is tough, but this worked.
Many of the desserts were not available, so i opted for the rice pudding. It was essentially a bowl of sugar milk and virtually no rice, and was served to me by a young woman in a flannel shirt (not my waiter) who didn't even put it in front of me, but down the table, and left. No one came back to check, or I would have returned it. Same flannel girl tossed the check on the table then walked behind me; no opportunity to speak on my part. So i paid and left.
If you're going to strive for excellence then all your staff need to be polite and serving rice pudding as milk is a cheap cop out. Sad ending to an otherwise excellent meal. -

This place!
The most authentic Indian food in the capital region in a restaurant style! (Parivar is slightly better at that super Indian kinda vibe).
But bottom line is if I wanna eat something specifically, it's extremely likely I will find it here and it will actually be good.
Also, their buffet is greeeeeat! -

When you've been going to a restaurant for over thirteen years, it's nice to know that they can still surprise you. Obviously, you don't keep returning to a restaurant over that period of time unless you are thoroughly satisfied with at least the food, if not also the service.
Our most recent visit demonstrated that we had become a bit negligent in our dining out. Upon entering, everything looked a little bit different. The buffet tables were in a different location and in their place there was now a full bar. The dining room was more spacious and there were low partitions, maybe about 4.5 feet tall, that separated some tables from others. It gave you a little more intimate feel as you dined at your table. We commented to our server and he explained that they had expanded the restaurant about eight months ago. Shame on us!
The rest of our evening experience was no surprise. A very enjoyable meal with excellent service.
We started with my wife's traditional favorite, Mysore Masala Dosa ($10). The filling inside the dosa seemed extra plentiful and as tasty as ever. But wait, there was one more pleasant surprise for us. They now also offered Ubu Ale. We each ordered a bottle ($5 each). Instead of our usual Naan, we decided to try their Chapathy ($3) - I decided I liked this wheat flavor better and will probably favor it over naan in the future.
My wife stayed with her favorite Indian dish, Chettinadu Vegetables ($13) while I chose the Lamb Madras ($17). Both dishes so full of flavor and being such generous servings that half of each came home for enjoyment the next day. And they were, in fact, just as delicious the following day. -

Their water is top tier.
The review is too short so the rest will be useless information about the food and decor that no one wants to hear.
The interior is beautiful. It's incredibly and deceptively large with a modern Indian design. The back wall is adorned with a beautiful mural of Hindu art. The food is delicious. It's well made and properly priced. I of course has the chicken tikka masala, which is definitely one of their top sellers. The chicken biriyani and fish fry were delightful as well.
